第一章:易经概论——中华智慧的源头活水
Introduction to Yijing: The Source of Chinese Wisdom
清晨,当第一缕阳光穿透薄雾,洒落在古老的华夏大地之上,我们的先人便开始观察这天地的运行:日升月落,寒来暑往,四季更迭,万物荣枯。他们仰观天文,俯察地理,近取诸身,远取诸物,将这无穷变化归纳为最简单的符号——阴阳。这便是易经智慧的起点,也是中华文明最深邃的思想源头。
On a morning when the first rays of sunlight pierce through the mist and fall upon the ancient land of China, our ancestors began observing the operation of heaven and earth: the rising sun and setting moon, the cold and warmth, the changing of seasons, the flourishing and withering of all things. They looked up to observe the celestial patterns, looked down to examine the geography, took examples from what was near their bodies and what was far away, and reduced all these infinite changes into the simplest of symbols—Yin and Yang. This was the starting point of Yijing wisdom, and also the deepest source of Chinese civilization's thought.

什么是易经?
What is Yijing?
易经,全称《周易》,是中华文化最古老的经典之一,与《黄帝内经》《山海经》《河图洛书》并称为上古四大奇书。然而,在这四部奇书之中,唯有易经历经数千年传承至今,仍焕发着蓬勃的生命力。它不仅是古代帝王将相治世安邦的必读之书,更是无数仁人志士修身齐家、经世致用的智慧宝库。
Yijing, formally known as Zhou Yi (The Zhou Changes), is one of the oldest classics in Chinese culture. Along with Huangdi Neijing (The Yellow Emperor's Inner Canon), Shanhai Jing (Classic of Mountains and Seas), and Hetu Luoluo (the River Diagram and Luo Scroll), it is known as one of the Four Great Ancient Mysteries. However, among these four texts, only Yijing has been transmitted through thousands of years to the present day, still radiating vibrant vitality. It is not only an essential text for ancient emperors and generals in governing the world and establishing peace, but also a treasure house of wisdom for countless people of aspiration in self-cultivation, family regulation, and practical application.
或许你会问:为什么一本诞生于三千多年前的古书,至今仍值得我们认真研读?这个问题看似简单,实则触及了人类文明最核心的秘密。答案就藏在“易经”二字之中。
Perhaps you might ask: Why does a book created over three thousand years ago still deserve our serious study today? This question seems simple, but it touches upon the most core secret of human civilization. The answer lies within the two characters "易经" (Yijing).

“易”字的三层含义
The Threefold Meaning of the Character "Yi" (Change)
汉字是中华文化的基因,每一个字都承载着先民深邃的思考。“易”字看似简单,却蕴含着三层递进的哲学意蕴,正是这三层含义,构成了易经智慧的核心骨架。
Chinese characters are the genes of Chinese culture, with each character carrying the profound reflections of our ancestors. The character "易" appears simple, yet it contains three progressively deeper layers of philosophical meaning. These three layers form the core framework of Yijing wisdom.
第一层:变易——变化之道
First Layer: Yiyi (Bian Yi) — The Way of Change
“易”的第一层含义是“变易”,即变化、变动。《周易·系辞传》开篇即言:“变化者,进退之象也。”这句话告诉我们,世间万物无时无刻不在变化之中。太阳每天升起又落下,河流不断流淌,季节循环往复,人的思绪起起伏伏——这就是“变易”的本质。
The first meaning of "Yi" is "Bian Yi" (change), meaning transformation and movement. The opening of Xi Ci (The Great Commentary) states: "Change is the image of advance and retreat." This sentence tells us that all things in the world are constantly changing. The sun rises and sets every day, rivers flow continuously, seasons cycle repeatedly, and human thoughts rise and fall—this is the essence of "Bian Yi."
古人观察到这一现象,进而思考:变化有没有规律?能否把握?答案是肯定的。易经正是研究变化规律的学问,它用八卦、六十四卦的符号系统,将天地万物的变化规律加以抽象和概括,帮助我们在看似纷繁复杂的现象中把握本质。
The ancients observed this phenomenon and further contemplated: Does change have rules? Can we grasp it? The answer is yes. Yijing is precisely the study of the laws of change. Using the symbolic system of the Eight Trigrams and Sixty-Four Hexagrams, it abstracts and summarizes the laws of change in all things between heaven and earth, helping us grasp the essence amid seemingly complex phenomena.
第二层:简易——简约之美
Second Layer: Jianyi (Jian Yi) — The Beauty of Simplicity
“易”的第二层含义是“简易”,即简单、简约。《周易·系辞传》云:“乾以易知,坤以简能。”这句话的意思是,天道运行以简易为其智慧,地道承载以简约为其能力。真正的大道,往往是简单而深刻的。
The second meaning of "Yi" is "Jian Yi" (simplicity), meaning simplification and conciseness. Xi Ci states: "Qian becomes known through ease, Kun achieves through simplicity." This means the way of heaven operates with simplicity as its wisdom, and the way of earth sustains with conciseness as its ability. The true great way is often simple yet profound.
易经的符号系统便是简易之美的典范。整套易经的核心符号仅有两个:阳爻(一)和阴爻(--)。这两个最简单的符号,排列组合成八卦,又演变出六十四卦,进而可以象征天地万物。这种从简单到复杂、从有限到无限的思维方式,正是中华智慧的精髓所在。
The symbolic system of Yijing is a model of the beauty of simplicity. The core symbols of the entire Yijing number only two: the Yang line (一) and the Yin line (--). These two simplest symbols, arranged and combined into the Eight Trigrams, then evolved into the Sixty-Four Hexagrams, which in turn can symbolize all things between heaven and earth. This way of thinking from the simple to the complex, from the finite to the infinite, is precisely the essence of Chinese wisdom.
第三层:不易——不变之宗
Third Layer: Buyi (Bu Yi) — The Constant Foundation
“易”的第三层含义是“不易”,即不变、恒常。这个含义可能让人困惑:既然“易”是变化,为什么又说“不易”?其实,这正是易经智慧的精妙之处。在千变万化的现象背后,总有某些永恒不变的规律存在。这些规律不因时间推移而改变,不因空间转换而转移,它们是变化的法则本身。
The third meaning of "Yi" is "Bu Yi" (constancy), meaning unchanging and permanent. This meaning might be confusing: Since "Yi" means change, why is it also called "Bu Yi"? Actually, this is precisely the subtlety of Yijing wisdom. Behind the myriads of changing phenomena, there are always some eternally unchanging laws. These laws do not change with the passage of time, nor do they shift with changes in space—they are the very principles of change itself.
比如,太阳从东方升起,这是亘古不变的;水往低处流,这也是永恒的法则。在社会层面,人性中有追求幸福、逃避痛苦的本能,这同样是不易的规律。易经所追求的,正是要在变化中把握这些不变的本质,从而做出正确的判断和决策。
For example, the sun rises in the east—this is unchanging since ancient times; water flows downward—this is also an eternal law. On the social level, human nature includes the instinct to pursue happiness and avoid suffering—this is equally an unchanging principle. What Yijing pursues is precisely to grasp these unchanging essences amid change, thereby making correct judgments and decisions.
三义合一:易经的核心智慧
Three Meanings United: The Core Wisdom of Yijing
变易、简易、不易,三者看似矛盾,实则统一。变易是表象,简易是方法,不易是本体。三者合而言之,便是易经告诉我们的核心道理:在变化的世界中把握不变的规律,用简单的方式应对复杂的问题。这一智慧,穿越三千年时光,在今天依然闪烁着真理的光芒。
Bian Yi, Jian Yi, and Bu Yi, though seemingly contradictory, are actually unified. Bian Yi is the appearance, Jian Yi is the method, and Bu Yi is the本体 (fundamental nature). Taken together, they convey Yijing's core teaching: In a changing world, grasp the unchanging laws; use simple methods to address complex problems. This wisdom, crossing three thousand years of time, still glitters with the radiance of truth today.

四圣与易经的因缘
The Four Sages and Their Connection to Yijing
易经的成书,凝聚了中华民族数千年智慧的结晶。据传统说法,易经的形成与四位圣人密切相关,他们分别是伏羲、文王、周公和孔子。这四位圣人的贡献,构成了易经这座智慧大厦的四大支柱。
The formation of Yijing condensed the essence of Chinese civilization's thousands of years of wisdom. According to tradition, the creation of Yijing is closely related to four sages: Fu Xi, King Wen, the Duke of Zhou, and Confucius. The contributions of these four sages constitute the four pillars of the edifice of Yijing wisdom.
伏羲画卦:象天法地
Fu Xi Drawing the Trigrams: Emulating Heaven and Earth
伏羲氏是传说中的上古帝王,被尊为“三皇之首”。据《周易·系辞传》记载:“古者包羲氏之王天下也,仰则观象于天,俯则观法于地,观鸟兽之文与地之宜,近取诸身,远取诸物,于是始作八卦,以通神明之德,以类万物之情。”
Fu Xi is a legendary ruler of high antiquity, revered as the "first of the Three Sovereigns." According to Xi Ci: "In ancient times, when Bao Xi ruled all under heaven, he looked up to observe the patterns in the heavens, looked down to examine the laws of the earth, observed the markings of birds and beasts and what was suitable to the earth, took examples from what was near his body and what was far away, and from this began to create the Eight Trigrams, to penetrate the virtue of the spirits and bright ones, and to classify the emotions of all things."
这段话描绘了伏羲创造八卦的过程。他不是凭空想象,而是通过长期观察自然界的现象,将天地万物的运行规律抽象为八个基本符号:乾(☰)、坤(☱)、震(☳)、巽(☴)、坎(☵)、离(☶)、艮(☷)、兑(☱)。这八个符号,每个都有其独特的象征意义:乾代表天,坤代表地,震代表雷,巽代表风,坎代表水,离代表火,艮代表山,兑代表泽。
