四柱预测的核心逻辑，就是把你的出生时间拆成四个“时间柱子”，每个柱子上有两个汉字，一共八个汉字，所以也叫“八字（Eight Characters）”。这四个柱子分别是： The core logic of Four Pillars Prediction is to split your birth time into four "time pillars", each with two Chinese characters, for a total of eight characters, so it is also called "Eight Characters". 每个柱子上的两个汉字，第一个叫“天干（Heavenly Stems）”，一共10个：甲、乙、丙、丁、戊、己、庚、辛、壬、癸，就像10个不同颜色的小标签，代表不同的能量属性；第二个叫“地支（Earthly Branches）”，一共12个：子、丑、寅、卯、辰、巳、午、未、申、酉、戌、亥，每个地支对应一个生肖，就像12个不同的小动物，代表不同的性格倾向。比如前面说的早上7点是辰时，对应生肖龙，所以这个时辰出生的小朋友，一般像小龙一样活泼好动。 Each pillar has two Chinese characters. The first one is called the "Heavenly Stem", with a total of 10: Jia, Yi, Bing, Ding, Wu, Ji, Geng, Xin, Ren, Gui. They are like 10 small labels of different colors, representing different energy attributes. The second one is called the "Earthly Branch", with a total of 12: Zi, Chou, Yin, Mao, Chen, Si, Wu, Wei, Shen, You, Xu, Hai. Each Earthly Branch corresponds to a zodiac sign, like 12 different small animals, representing different personality tendencies. 四柱预测不是凭空想出来的，它是中国古代的劳动人民在几千年的生活中，慢慢总结出来的一套关于人的性格、行为规律的经验体系。它的发展历程，就像一本慢慢被小朋友写满笔记的课本： Four Pillars Prediction did not come out of thin air. It is an experiential system about human personality and behavior laws that the ancient Chinese working people slowly summarized over thousands of years of life. 最早把四柱预测系统化的人，是唐朝的一位叫李虚中（Li Xuzhong）的官员，他特别喜欢研究人的出生时间和性格的关系，给很多小朋友看过“生日密码”，甚至能准确说出小朋友小时候的调皮事、长大后的特长，大家都觉得他特别神。后来到了宋朝，有一位叫徐子平（Xu Ziping）的学者，他在李虚中的基础上，把四柱的算法变得更简单、更准确，所以四柱预测也叫“子平术（Zi Ping Shu）”，这个名字一直用到现在。 The first person to systematize Four Pillars Prediction was an official named Li Xuzhong in the Tang Dynasty.
