Chapter 1: The Magical Brush Castle

那是一个再普通不过的秋日傍晚，橙红色的夕阳像一颗巨大的糖果，慢慢地往西边的山峦后面滑落。小女孩朵朵正趴在窗台上，看着天空中棉花糖一样的云朵发呆。她的头发扎成两个小小的丸子，圆圆的脸蛋上有一双黑葡萄似的眼睛，此刻正闪烁着梦幻般的光芒。

It was an ordinary autumn evening, when the orange-red sunset was slowly sliding behind the western mountains like a giant candy. Little DuoDuo was leaning on the windowsill, watching the cotton-candy-like clouds drift across the sky. Her hair was tied into two small buns, her round face adorned with eyes as dark as grapes, now sparkling with dreamlike radiance.

“朵朵，该吃饭啦！”厨房里传来妈妈温柔的声音。

"DuoDuo, it's time for dinner!" came her mother's gentle voice from the kitchen.

朵朵恋恋不舍地从窗台上爬下来，嘟着嘴往餐桌走去。就在这时，门铃“叮咚”一响。

Reluctantly, DuoDuo climbed down from the windowsill, pouting as she walked toward the dinner table. Just then, the doorbell rang with a cheerful "ding-dong."

“会是谁呢？”朵朵歪着脑袋，心里充满了好奇。

"Who could that be?" DuoDuo tilted her head, her heart filled with curiosity.

妈妈打开门，门外站着一位穿着彩虹色长袍的老奶奶。她的头发像棉花糖一样蓬松洁白，眼睛里闪烁着星星般的光芒。最神奇的是，老奶奶的背上背着一个巨大的彩色盒子，那个盒子正在发出微微的光芒。

Mother opened the door, and standing outside was an old grandmother dressed in a rainbow-colored robe. Her hair was as fluffy and white as cotton candy, and her eyes sparkled like stars. Most amazingly, on her back was a large colorful box that was emitting a soft glow.

“亲爱的朵朵，”老奶奶笑眯眯地弯下腰，声音像风铃一样清脆悦耳，“这是送给你的礼物。”

"Dear DuoDuo," the grandmother smiled warmly, her voice as clear and pleasant as wind chimes, "this is a gift for you."

妈妈惊讶地看着老奶奶：“请问您是……”

Mother looked at the grandmother in surprise: "May I ask who you are..."

“一位老朋友。”老奶奶眨眨眼睛，把那个发光的盒子递到朵朵手里，“记住，朵朵，当你想要画画的时候，就打开它。里面的彩笔会带你去看最美丽的风景。”

"An old friend," the grandmother winked, handing the glowing box to DuoDuo. "Remember, DuoDuo, when you want to draw, just open it. The crayons inside will take you to see the most beautiful scenery."

说完，老奶奶的身影竟然像彩虹一样慢慢变淡，最后完全消失了，只留下一缕淡淡的彩虹香气在空气中飘荡。

With that, the grandmother's figure began to fade like a rainbow, until she completely disappeared, leaving only a faint rainbow fragrance wafting in the air.

朵朵低头看着手中的盒子。这个盒子大约有巴掌那么大，外壳是深蓝色的，上面镶嵌着七颗闪闪发光的小星星，每颗星星都散发着不同颜色的光芒——红、橙、黄、绿、青、蓝、紫。朵朵轻轻触摸了一下盒子，那些星星竟然发出了悦耳的叮咚声，仿佛在唱着歌。

DuoDuo looked down at the box in her hands. It was about the size of her palm, with a deep blue shell inlaid with seven twinkling stars, each emitting a different colored glow—red, orange, yellow, green, cyan, blue, and purple. When DuoDuo gently touched the box, the stars made a pleasant tinkling sound, as if singing a song.

“妈妈，这是真的吗？”朵朵抬起头，眼睛里满是不可思议。

"Is this real, Mommy?" DuoDuo looked up, her eyes full of wonder.

妈妈也惊讶得说不出话来，只能点点头。她帮朵朵把盒子小心翼翼地放到朵朵的房间里，安顿好一切后，便让朵朵去洗手准备吃晚饭。

Mother was too shocked to speak, so she just nodded. She carefully placed the box in DuoDuo's room, and after settling everything, told DuoDuo to wash her hands for dinner.

那顿晚饭，朵朵吃得心不在焉。她的心思全在那个神秘的盒子上。红烧肉是什么味道，她完全不知道；青菜豆腐汤喝起来，好像和白开水没什么两样。吃完饭后，朵朵飞快地跑回了自己的房间。

That dinner, DuoDuo ate distractedly. Her mind was entirely on that mysterious box. She had no idea what the braised pork tasted like; the vegetable and tofu soup seemed no different from plain water. After dinner, DuoDuo rushed back to her room.

In the room, the box lay quietly on the desk. Moonlight streamed through the window, falling right on the box, and the seven stars' glow became even brighter, bathing the entire room in a dreamlike rainbow color.

DuoDuo sat gently in the little chair in front of the desk, holding the box in both hands. She could feel something inside gently pulsing, like a heartbeat. DuoDuo took a deep breath and slowly opened the lid.

刹那间，一道耀眼的彩虹光芒从盒子里冲出来！朵朵惊讶得瞪大了眼睛，她看到七支神奇的彩笔正站立在盒子里，每支彩笔都有一个可爱的小脑袋和一双闪闪发亮的大眼睛。红、橙、黄、绿、青、蓝、紫，七种颜色的小精灵正齐齐地望着朵朵，脸上带着友好的微笑。

In an instant, a dazzling rainbow light burst forth from the box! DuoDuo's eyes went wide with surprise. She saw seven magical crayons standing upright in the box, each with an adorable little head and a pair of sparkling big eyes. Red, orange, yellow, green, cyan, blue, purple—seven little spirits in different colors were all looking at DuoDuo, their faces wearing friendly smiles.

“你好呀，朵朵！”红色的彩笔精灵第一个跳了出来，她有一个圆圆的脸蛋，扎着马尾辫，看起来活力十足，“我是小红，我的颜色是太阳的颜色，代表热情和勇气！”

"Hello there, DuoDuo!" The red crayon spirit jumped out first. She had a round face with a ponytail, looking full of energy. "I'm Little Red, my color is the color of the sun, representing enthusiasm and courage!"

“你好，我是小橙！”橙色的彩笔精灵蹦了出来，他戴着一顶小小的画家帽，手里拿着一支迷你画笔，“我是快乐和开心的颜色，小朋友们都喜欢我！”

"Hi, I'm Little Orange!" The orange crayon spirit bounced out, wearing a tiny painter's hat and holding a mini paintbrush. "I'm the color of happiness and joy. Little friends all like me!"

“我是小黄！”黄色的彩笔精灵转了个圈，裙摆随风飘动，“我的颜色是星星的颜色，代表想象力和创造力哦！”

"I'm Little Yellow!" The yellow crayon spirit spun around, her skirt flowing in the wind. "My color is the color of stars, representing imagination and creativity!"

The green, cyan, blue, and purple crayon spirits all hopped out one by one, introducing themselves. They flew around DuoDuo like a flock of beautiful rainbow butterflies.

"Not only can we talk," the blue crayon spirit—Little Blue—blinked his eyes. He wore tiny glasses and looked like a little scholar. "We can also take you to a magical place!"

"Where?" DuoDuo's eyes immediately lit up.

"The Brush Castle!" all seven crayon spirits shouted in unison, their voices clear as silver bells. "It's a place only children who truly love drawing can reach! In the castle, every wall can draw, every brick has a story, and behind every door lie different secrets of painting!"

朵朵的心跳加速了。她一直都很喜欢画画，虽然大人们有时候会说她画得“不像”、“乱七八糟”，但她就是喜欢用彩笔在纸上涂抹的感觉。每一笔都像是在和颜色说话，每一个图形都像是一个小秘密。

DuoDuo's heart raced. She had always loved drawing. Though adults sometimes said her drawings "didn't look right" or were "messy," she just loved the feeling of spreading colors on paper with her crayons. Every stroke was like talking with colors, and every shape was like a little secret.

“那……我们怎么去呢？”朵朵小心翼翼地问。

"So... how do we get there?" DuoDuo asked carefully.

The seven crayons looked at each other, then jumped out of the box together, forming a circle in the air. They began spinning rapidly, faster and faster, and gradually, DuoDuo saw a beautiful rainbow halo forming around them.

"DuoDuo, grab our hands!" Little Red shouted loudly.

DuoDuo didn't hesitate. She reached out her hands and grabbed the hands of all seven crayon spirits. A warm feeling spread through her palms, like being embraced by sunshine, or being lifted by soft, fluffy clouds.

"Close your eyes!" Little Blue the Scholar reminded her. "Our journey to the castle is about to begin!"

DuoDuo obediently closed her eyes. At first, she only heard the whistling wind passing her ears; gradually, the wind transformed into beautiful music, with the tinkling of pianos, the melodious notes of violins, and a group of little bells singing joyfully.

“可以睁开眼睛了！”不知道过了多久，小橙的声音在朵朵耳边响起。

"You can open your eyes now!" Little Orange's voice sounded in DuoDuo's ear after some time.
