清晨的阳光透过窗帘的缝隙，洒在小米的脸上。小米揉了揉眼睛，伸了个大大的懒腰。肚子咕噜咕噜地叫了起来，像是在说：“小米！小米！我饿了！快给我吃早餐吧！”
The morning sunlight filtered through the curtains, landing on Xiao Mi's face. Xiao Mi rubbed his eyes and gave a big stretch. His tummy rumbled loudly, as if saying: "Xiao Mi! Xiao Mi! I'm hungry! Please give me breakfast!"
小米的妈妈端着一盘香喷喷的早餐走过来，有金黄的煎蛋、圆圆的面包、红红的苹果，还有一杯白白的牛奶。
Xiao Mi's mother walked over with a plate of fragrant breakfast—golden fried eggs, round bread, red apples, and a glass of white milk.
“小米，快来吃早餐！”妈妈笑着说，“今天的早餐有蛋白质、碳水化合物、维生素，还有钙质呢！”
"Xiao Mi, come have breakfast!" Mom smiled. "Today's breakfast has protein, carbohydrates, vitamins, and calcium!"
“妈妈，蛋白质、碳水化合物是什么呀？”小米好奇地问，一边拿起面包咬了一口。
"Mom, what are protein and carbohydrates?" Xiao Mi asked curiously, taking a bite of his bread.
妈妈神秘地眨眨眼睛：“你想知道吗？那就跟着食物一起，到你的身体里面去探险吧！这可是一场奇妙的营养世界之旅哦！”
Mom blinked mysteriously: "Do you want to know? Then follow the food and go on an adventure inside your body! This is a wonderful journey to the world of nutrition!"
第一站：嘴巴——消化的起点
Stop One: The Mouth — The Starting Point of Digestion
小米眨眨眼睛，突然发现自己变得好小好小，站在盘子里。他惊讶地发现自己正坐在一块金黄的煎蛋上，就像坐在一个柔软的小床上。
Xiao Mi blinked and suddenly found himself becoming very small, standing on the plate. He was amazed to find himself sitting on a golden fried egg, just like sitting on a soft little bed.
“这太神奇了！”小米惊叹道。
"This is amazing!" Xiao Mi exclaimed.
就在这时，巨大的“咔嚓”声响起——是小米在咬煎蛋！小米和煎蛋一起被送进了嘴巴里。
Just then, a loud "crunch" sound rang out—it was Xiao Mi taking a bite of the fried egg! Xiao Mi and the fried egg were carried into the mouth together.
嘴巴里面好热闹啊！小米看到了白白的大门牙，它们像士兵一样排成一排，整整齐齐。
Inside the mouth, it was so lively! Xiao Mi saw the white front teeth standing in a neat row, like soldiers.
“小朋友们好！”小米热情地打招呼，“我是小米！”
"Hello, little friends!" Xiao Mi greeted enthusiastically. "I'm Xiao Mi!"
“我们是门牙！”最前面的四颗牙齿骄傲地说，“我们的工作是切断食物！你瞧，刚才就是我和我的兄弟们把你从面包上咬下来的！”
"We are the incisors!" The four front teeth said proudly. "Our job is to cut food! Look, just now my brothers and I bit you off from the bread!"
“我们是犬齿！”旁边四颗尖尖的牙齿说，“我们有尖锐的牙尖，专门用来撕裂食物，比如撕开肉肉！”
"We're the canines!" Four sharp teeth beside them said. "We have pointed tips, specially designed to tear food, like tearing meat!"
“我们是磨牙！”后面的牙齿们齐声说道，“我们负责把食物磨碎，就像磨坊把小麦磨成面粉一样！”
"We're the molars!" The back teeth said in unison. "We are responsible for grinding food, just like a mill grinds wheat into flour!"
小米认真地听着，心里想：原来牙齿有这么多种类，它们分工合作，把食物咬碎、撕开、磨烂。
Xiao Mi listened carefully and thought: So teeth come in different types, and they work together to bite, tear, and grind food.
突然，一股液体从上方喷了下来，像下起了小雨一样。
Suddenly, liquid sprayed down from above, like a gentle rain.
“这是口水，也叫唾液！”一个声音解释道。小米抬头一看，是舌头在说话。
"This is saliva, also called spit!" A voice explained. Xiao Mi looked up and saw the tongue was speaking.
舌头的身体粉粉嫩嫩的，表面凹凸不平，像一块小小的草地。舌头上还有很多小小的味蕾，它们像小小的花蕾一样。
The tongue's body was pink and soft, its surface uneven, like a small lawn. There were also many tiny taste buds on it, like little flower buds.
口水从唾液腺里流出来，帮助我们把嘴巴里的食物变湿润，还能帮助消化呢！
Saliva flows out from the salivary glands, helping to moisten the food in our mouth and also helping with digestion!
“口水有什么用处呢？”小米好奇地问。
"What does saliva do?" Xiao Mi asked curiously.
舌头笑眯眯地说：“口水用处可大了！首先，它能让干燥的食物变得湿润，这样我们更容易咀嚼和吞咽。其次，口水里有一种神奇的酶叫做唾液淀粉酶，它能把淀粉变成糖。这就是为什么你慢慢嚼面包的时候会感觉有点甜的原因哦！”
The tongue smiled and said: "Saliva has so many uses! First, it can make dry food moist, so it's easier for us to chew and swallow. Second, saliva contains a magical enzyme called salivary amylase, which turns starch into sugar. That's why you might feel a bit sweet when you slowly chew bread!"
小米恍然大悟：“原来是这样！怪不得我嚼馒头的时候会越嚼越甜呢！”
Xiao Mi suddenly understood: "So that's why! No wonder my馒头gets sweeter the more I chew it!"
第二站：食道——食物的滑梯
Stop Two: The Esophagus — The Food Slide
食物被牙齿磨碎后，和口水混合在一起，变成了一团软软的食糜。接下来，它们要开始一段新的旅程了。
After being ground by the teeth, the food mixes with saliva and becomes a soft mass called chyme. Next, they begin a new journey.
小米和食糜一起被舌头推送着，慢慢地往喉咙移动。喉咙是一个十字路口，它连接着气管和食道。气管是空气进出的地方，食道是食物通过的通道。
Xiao Mi, along with the chyme, was pushed by the tongue, slowly moving toward the throat. The throat is a crossroads, connecting the windpipe and the esophagus. The windpipe is where air comes and goes, and the esophagus is the passage for food.
“这里有一个神奇的小盖子，叫做会厌！”舌头提醒道，“当你吞咽食物的时候，会厌会自动盖住气管，防止食物掉进去。如果你一边吃饭一边说话或者大笑，会厌可能来不及盖上，食物就会不小心跑到气管里，你就会呛到。所以吃饭的时候要认真哦！”
"There's a magical little flap here called the epiglottis!" the tongue reminded. "When you swallow food, the epiglottis automatically covers the windpipe to prevent food from going in. If you talk or laugh while eating, the epiglottis might not cover in time, and food might accidentally go into the windpipe, causing you to choke. So be careful when eating!"
小米记住了这个重要的提醒，然后跟着食物一起滑进食道。
Xiao Mi remembered this important reminder, then slid into the esophagus along with the food.
食道是一条长长的管道，大约有25厘米长，差不多和你的小手臂一样长呢！
The esophagus is a long tube, about 25 centimeters long, about as long as your little arm!
食道的壁上有很多肌肉，它们会一步一步地收缩蠕动，就像海浪一样，一波一波地推动食物往下走。这种运动叫做蠕动。
The walls of the esophagus have many muscles that contract and move in waves, pushing the food downward step by step. This movement is called peristalsis.
小米和食糜一起坐在蠕动的波浪上，就像坐滑梯一样，嗖嗖地往下滑。
Xiao Mi and the chyme rode the peristaltic waves together, like going down a slide, swoosh swoosh downward.
“太刺激了！”小米兴奋地叫道。
"This is so exciting!" Xiao Mi cheered.
“不管你是站着、坐着，还是倒立着，”食道骄傲地说，“我都能把食物送到胃里！这就是蠕动的厉害之处！”
"Whether you're standing, sitting, or even upside down," the esophagus said proudly, "I can deliver food to your stomach! That's the amazing thing about peristalsis!"
大约过了8秒钟，小米和食糜一起滑进了胃里。
After about 8 seconds, Xiao Mi and the chyme slid into the stomach together.
第三站：胃——食物的搅拌机
Stop Three: The Stomach — The Food Blender
胃看起来像一个胖胖的倒挂的J形袋子的袋子，它的容量大约有1500毫升这么大，差不多能装下三瓶矿泉水的量呢！
The stomach looks like an upside-down J-shaped bag, with a capacity of about 1500 milliliters, roughly the amount of three bottles of mineral water!
胃的内部是红红色的，有点皱皱的，像手风琴的风箱一样。当食物进来的时候，胃会伸展开，容量变大；当食物被消化后，胃又会收缩回去。
The inside of the stomach is reddish, a bit wrinkled, like an accordion. When food comes in, the stomach expands, increasing in size; when food is digested, the stomach contracts back.
“我的工作是储存食物和消化食物！”胃自信地说，“我会分泌胃液，里面有胃酸和胃蛋白酶。胃酸很厉害，它的pH值在1.5到3.5之间，是很强的酸性物质，能杀死食物中的细菌。胃蛋白酶则负责把蛋白质分解成小分子。”
"My job is to store food and digest it!" the stomach said confidently. "I secrete gastric juice, which contains gastric acid and pepsin. Gastric acid is very powerful, with a pH between 1.5 and 3.5, a strong acid that kills bacteria in food. Pepsin breaks down proteins into smaller molecules."
就在这时，胃开始蠕动起来，肌肉一圈一圈地收缩，把食物翻来覆去地搅拌。胃就像一台强大的搅拌机，把食物和胃液混合在一起。
Just then, the stomach began to peristaltic, muscles contracting in circles, churning the food back and forth. The stomach is like a powerful blender, mixing food and gastric juice together.
小米感觉周围晃晃悠悠的，像坐在船里在大海中航行。
Xiao Mi felt everything swaying around him, like sailing on a ship in the sea.
“胃会花2到4个小时把食物搅拌成更细的食糜，”胃解释道，“如果是脂肪含量高的食物，比如炸鸡或者薯条，可能需要更长时间，需要5到6个小时呢！”
"The stomach takes 2 to 4 hours to churn food into finer chyme," the stomach explained. "If it's high-fat food, like fried chicken or french fries, it may take longer, about 5 to 6 hours!"
“原来消化不同食物需要的时间不一样啊！”小米学到了新知识。
"So different foods take different times to digest!" Xiao Mi learned something new.
胃壁上还有很多粘液细胞，它们分泌的粘液像一层保护膜，覆盖在胃壁上，防止胃酸伤害胃本身。
There are also many mucus cells on the stomach wall, which secrete mucus that forms a protective layer over the stomach wall, preventing gastric acid from damaging the stomach itself.
第四站：小肠——营养的吸收站
Stop Four: The Small Intestine — The Nutrient Absorption Station
经过几个小时的努力，食物终于被胃消化成了细细的食糜。接下来，小米和食糜一起涌入了小肠。
After several hours of work, the food was finally digested by the stomach into fine chyme. Next, Xiao Mi and the chyme rushed into the small intestine.
