The first rays of morning light pierced through the mist made of tiny pixels, gently falling upon every house in the World of Words, each one constructed from codes and symbols. Momo rubbed his large, shiny eyes—eyes as black and bright as ink bottles—and sat up from his little bed, built from curly braces "{}". Today was a special day—he was about to begin his very first official day at Compiler Magic School.

The little sprites who graduated from this school all possessed a magical ability—they could translate the simple wishes written by humans in the human world into wonderful languages that computers could understand.

First Steps on Campus

Compiler Magic School sat right in the heart of the World of Words, a grand building made of countless blocks of code stacked together. From a distance, the school's main building looked like a massive pyramid, each level constructed from symbols of different colors: the base at the very bottom was made of steady gray symbols, representing the most fundamental programming concepts; the middle levels were vibrant blue symbols, shimmering with the glow of logic; and the very top was dazzling golden symbols—the color of the most profound and sacred compiler magic.
墨墨站在校门前，仰望着这座宏伟的建筑。他看到校门上刻着一行闪闪发光的大字：
Momo stood at the school gate, gazing up at this magnificent building. He saw a row of brightly glowing words carved above the gate:

"Wow—" Momo couldn't help but exclaim, "That's so cool!"

"You think it's cool, huh?" A voice suddenly came from behind Momo. Momo jumped in surprise and quickly turned around, seeing a round little sprite gazing at him with a big smile. This little sprite's body was a light cyan color, like a whiff of fresh morning breeze, and his eyes were curved into two happy crescents.
“我叫晓风！”小精灵热情地自我介绍，“我叫晓风，也是今天来报到的新生！我刚才看到你盯着校门发呆，就知道你一定是第一次来。我们做朋友吧！”
"I'm Xiao Feng!" the little sprite enthusiastically introduced himself, "I'm also a new student registering today! I saw you standing there staring at the gate, and I knew it must be your first time here. Let's be friends!"

"What are all these?" Momo asked curiously.

"They're program codes written in the human world!" Xiao Feng explained like a little expert, "Look, these are codes written in Python—Python is one of the most popular programming languages in the human world. That snake-like symbol is its logo, because the pronunciation of Python sounds like a snake slithering!"
墨墨仔细看去，果然看到墙壁上画着一条可爱的绿色小蛇，旁边写着：

The auditorium of Compiler Magic School was a massive circular domed building, its ceiling covered with flowing code and twinkling lights. When Momo and Xiao Feng rushed into the auditorium, it was already filled with new sprite students from all over the World of Words. Everyone was excitedly chatting, and the whole auditorium buzzed with noise, like a hive full of busy bees.
“快！快！这里还有位置！”晓风眼尖地发现了两张空座位，拉着墨墨一屁股坐了下去。
"Quick! Quick! There are seats here!" Xiao Feng spotted two empty seats with his sharp eyes and pulled Momo down onto them.
刚坐定，礼堂的灯光突然暗了下来，一束聚光灯打在舞台中央。墨墨看到一只身穿黑色长袍、头戴银色尖顶帽的老精灵缓缓走上舞台。他的胡须足有一米长，像瀑布一样垂到地面；他的眼睛深邃而明亮，仿佛藏着无尽的智慧。
Just as they sat down, the lights in the auditorium suddenly dimmed, and a spotlight shone on the center of the stage. Momo saw an elderly sprite in a black robe and silver pointed hat slowly walking onto the stage. His beard was over a meter long, hanging to the ground like a waterfall; his eyes were deep and bright, as if they contained endless wisdom.
“那就是校长文森特先生！”晓风压低声音兴奋地说，“他是整个文字王国最厉害的编译魔法师！传说他能在一眨眼之间就把一段人类程序翻译成计算机能理解的语言！”
"That's Principal Vincent先生!" Xiao Feng whispered excitedly, "He's the greatest compiler magician in the whole World of Words! Legend says he can translate a piece of human code into computer language in the blink of an eye!"
