Chapter 1: The "Breaking-Out Moment" of AI Security — Why Every Developer Should Be Worried
---
1.1 一个深夜的客服工单:AI 安全的破圈时刻 / A Late-Night Support Ticket: The Breaking-Out Moment of AI Security
This is not a movie scene. This actually happened at multiple leading SaaS companies. Similar "breaking-out moments" have occurred repeatedly across the AI industry over the past three years.
This leak does not require the attacker to break into the server—only one click of "authorize" in the IDE.
The Agent did not question this and executed it directly.
这正是 OWASP(Open Worldwide Application Security Project,开放式全球应用安全项目)把"提示注入"(Prompt Injection)列为 LLM Top 10 头号威胁的原因,也是每一个正在做 AI 应用的开发者、架构师、产品经理都必须重新审视的工程问题。/ This is exactly why OWASP lists "Prompt Injection" as the top threat in the LLM Top 10, and why every developer, architect, and product manager working on AI applications must reconsider this engineering problem.
After reading this chapter, you should be able to explain in one sentence to your colleagues: what is the "Defense in Depth" approach to AI security, and what its three-layer architecture looks like.

1.2 第一性原理:什么是"AI 安全"?/ First Principles: What Is "AI Security"?
Before diving into specific threats, let's clarify a concept that seems simple but is often confused.
1.2.1 定义:AI 安全不是单一学科 / Definition: AI Security Is Not a Single Discipline
"AI Security" has two nearly independent threads in English literature, and understanding their difference is very important.
This treats machine learning models as tools to detect malware, identify phishing emails, analyze logs, and assist in vulnerability discovery. This book does not cover this thread, because here the attack surface is relatively controllable.
This is what this book discusses. It focuses on all security and abuse risks faced when an AI system is deployed as a product, embedded in business processes, and serving external users.
更进一步,"Security for AI" 还可以再拆成三个子领域,开发者关心的优先级不同:/ Furthermore, "Security for AI" can be split into three sub-fields, with developers having different priorities for each:
Including adversarial examples (imperceptible perturbations to inputs causing model misclassification), model extraction (duplicating a functionally equivalent model through many queries), data poisoning (embedding traps in training data). 2. / This is the focus of OWASP LLM Top 10 and 80% of this book's content. 3. 这类风险更多由模型厂商通过 RLHF(Reinforcement Learning from Human Feedback,基于人类反馈的强化学习)和 Constitutional AI 等方法治理,开发者能做的有限但并非无所作为。/ This kind of risk is mainly managed by model vendors through methods like RLHF and Constitutional AI, with limited but non-zero actions available to developers.
For simplicity, this book uniformly uses "AI Security" to refer to the AI Application Security thread, and will briefly discuss adversarial examples and model extraction in Chapter 12.

If you hear a colleague say "our company is working on AI security," please first clarify which thread they mean—this will avoid countless meaningless discussions.
Attack Surface(Attack Surface)
在 Web 应用时代,攻击面主要包含:/ "Attack Surface" is a concept from traditional security engineering, referring to the sum of all entry points and boundaries in a system that an attacker might touch, probe, or exploit. In the Web application era, the attack surface mainly includes:
In the AI era, the attack surface "looks" similar but is completely different "at its core."

From this diagram, three layers of key information can be read:
1. 不可信输入来自四面八方 / Untrusted Inputs Come from All Directions:用户输入当然不可信。但在 RAG(Retrieval-Augmented Generation,检索增强生成)架构下,外部文档(PDF、网页、邮件)也成了"输入"的一部分;在 Agent 架构下
