> > (英文翻译: > In the summer of 2023, three junior students from Guangdong University of Technology squatted at the entrance of their dormitory, holding freshly printed posters that read "Exchange Old Books for Milk Tea", with two storage boxes in front of them - this was the entire startup capital of their entrepreneurial project: 2,000 RMB. At that time, their initial idea was to "collect old books and sell them to waste stations to make a difference", but after standing for 3 hours, they only collected 7 old books, and were even questioned as "scammers". Who would have thought that two years later, this project started with 2,000 RMB has covered 8 universities in Guangdong, with monthly revenue exceeding 120,000 RMB, achieving sustainable profitability. > )

1. Misconception 1: Entrepreneurship is an exclusive game for tech practitioners
The long-term focus of mass media on "unicorn entrepreneurship" and "tech entrepreneurship" cases has led most ordinary people to mistakenly believe that entrepreneurship must involve high-tech products, coding, and fundraising, and that ordinary people are not qualified to start a business. But data completely overturns this perception: According to the 2024 *National Market Entity Development Report* released by the State Administration for Market Regulation of China, as of the end of 2023, the total number of registered market entities nationwide reached 183 million, of which individual businesses accounted for 66.7%, reaching 122 million, while tech-based entrepreneurial entities only accounted for 7.8% of the total market entities[^1]. More notably, of the 32.72 million newly registered market entities in 2023, 82% belonged to traditional fields such as life services, wholesale and retail, catering and accommodation, of which nearly 60% of entrepreneurs were first-time entrepreneurs without technical background, financing experience.
This pattern holds true globally as well. According to the 2022 *Global Entrepreneurship Research Report* released by the *Journal of Business Venturing*, 90% of entrepreneurial enterprises worldwide are small and micro enterprises with annual revenue of less than 10 million RMB, which do not require external financing and can survive on their own cash flow[^2]. The essence of entrepreneurship is "value creation", not "technology monetization": opening a community fruit shop, running a campus errand service, or opening an online Taobao store are all qualified entrepreneurship as long as they solve users' real needs and create perceptible value, with no hierarchy difference from doing artificial intelligence or chips. )

2. Misconception 2: A good idea equals good entrepreneurship
"I have a great idea, I just need a programmer" is the most common self-deprecation in the entrepreneur community, behind which lies the cognitive misconception that the idea itself is the core competitiveness of entrepreneurship. But in fact, ideas belong to "public knowledge": as long as you tell enough people your idea, someone must have thought of it or even tried it. When the campus errand track exploded in 2016, more than 200 teams across the country rushed into the track at the same time, and the ideas of most teams were highly similar: helping students pick up express deliveries, buy meals, and deliver things, charging 5-10 yuan per order. But 3 years later, less than 5 projects in this track survived, and the core reason was not that the idea was bad, but that most teams regarded "idea" as the whole of entrepreneurship, did not verify demand, did not run through the profit model, and did not build an operation system, and finally died in the trap of "good idea but no money to make".
We can compare two campus errand projects that started almost at the same time:
- Project A: In March 2016, a team of computer science students from a 985 university raised 5 million yuan in angel financing, rented a 20-square-meter office in the first place, recruited 8 developers and 5 operators, and spent 3 months developing a dedicated APP. After launch, they found that the daily order volume was less than 20 orders, which could not even cover the server cost. 6 months later, the funds ran out and the project was dissolved.
- Project B: In April 2016, three students from another university did not raise financing or develop an APP. They first took orders via WeChat groups, and the founder himself delivered orders by electric bike every day. After running for 2 months, they verified the minimum viable model of "98% delivery rate within 1 hour, 35% user repurchase rate". After confirming that the order volume was enough to cover the cost, they slowly recruited part-time students and developed a lightweight mini program. 3 years later, it covered 12 universities, with annual revenue exceeding 8 million yuan.
The ideas of the two projects are almost exactly the same, and the core difference between success and failure is: Project A is "idea-driven", making products first and then looking for users; Project B is "system-generation", verifying demand first and then building products. An idea is only the starting point of entrepreneurship, not the core. What really determines the success or failure of entrepreneurship is whether you can turn an idea into an operational value creation system. )

3. Misconception 3: Entrepreneurship requires a large amount of startup capital
"Don't start a business without money" is another widely spread misconception, whose underlying logic is that "entrepreneurship must invest a large amount of capital in making products, renting offices, and recruiting people in the first place". But in fact, the core logic of lean generation is "use the lowest cost to verify demand, and then invest resources according to the verif
