小馋猫今天起床的时候，感觉肚子在咕噜咕噜地唱歌。
Little Foodie Cat woke up this morning with her tummy singing a gurgly song.
“咕噜噜——咕噜噜——”那个声音从肚子深处传来，好像在说：“我饿了！我饿了！我要吃东西！”
"咕噜噜——gurgle, gurgle——" The sound came from deep in her tummy, as if saying: "I'm hungry! I'm hungry! I want to eat!"
小馋猫揉了揉她圆滚滚的小肚子，眨巴着亮晶晶的大眼睛，看着窗外升起的太阳。阳光透过窗帘的缝隙，在她的粉色房间里洒下金色的光芒。
Little Foodie Cat rubbed her round little tummy and blinked her sparkling big eyes, watching the sun rising outside the window. The sunlight filtered through the curtains, casting golden rays across her pink room.
“妈妈——”她甜甜地喊道，“今天早餐吃什么呢？”
"Mama——" she called sweetly, "what are we having for breakfast today?"
就在这时，一阵奇妙的微风从窗缝里吹进来，带着一股甜蜜的香味。那香味像是草莓的甜、牛奶的香、还有烤面包的温暖气息混合在一起。
Just then, a wonderful breeze floated in through the window crack, carrying a sweet fragrance. The scent was like a mix of strawberry sweetness, milk aroma, and the warm气息 of freshly baked bread.
小馋猫闭上眼睛，深深地吸了一口气。她的鼻子就像一个神奇的小雷达，能够捕捉到各种美味的信号。
Little Foodie Cat closed her eyes and took a deep breath. Her nose was like a magical little radar, able to catch all kinds of delicious signals.
“你闻到的是什么味道呀？”一个轻柔的声音在她耳边响起。
"What smell are you catching?" A gentle voice spoke right in her ear.
小馋猫睁开眼睛，发现床边站着一个闪闪发光的小精灵。她有着透明的翅膀，头顶戴着一顶小小的王冠，手里拿着一根金色的魔法棒。
Little Foodie Cat opened her eyes and found a sparkling little fairy standing by her bedside. She had transparent wings, wore a tiny crown on her head, and held a golden magic wand in her hand.
“你是谁呀？”小馋猫好奇地问，眼睛一眨不眨地看着这个可爱的小生灵。
"Who are you?" Little Foodie Cat asked curiously, staring at the cute little creature without blinking.
“我呀，”小精灵眨眨眼睛，露出一个神秘的笑容，“我是来自食物王国的使者，我叫薇拉。今天，我特地来邀请你参观我们神奇的食物王国！”
"Me?" The fairy blinked her eyes and gave a mysterious smile. "I'm a messenger from the Food Kingdom, and my name is Vera. Today, I've come specially to invite you to visit our magical Food Kingdom!"
“食物王国？”小馋猫的眼睛一下子亮了起来，“那是什么地方呀？”
"Food Kingdom?" Little Foodie Cat's eyes sparkled with excitement. "What's that place?"
“那是一个你每天都去，却从来没有真正看见过的地方。”薇拉神秘地说，“每一位小朋友都有一个属于自己的食物王国，它就在你的身体里面。你吃的每一口食物，都会进入这个王国，开始一段奇妙的冒险旅程。”
"It's a place you visit every day but have never really seen before," Vera said mysteriously. "Every little child has their own Food Kingdom, and it's right inside your body. Every bite of food you eat enters this kingdom and begins a wonderful adventure journey."
小馋猫听得入了迷，她从床上坐起来，小脑袋里装满了问号。
Little Foodie Cat was completely captivated, sitting up from her bed with her head full of questions.
“真的吗？食物真的会进入我的身体吗？那它们在我的身体里做什么呢？我吃的那些苹果、面包、牛奶，它们都去哪里了？”
"Really? Does food really go inside my body? What are they doing there? Where do my apples, bread, and milk go?"
薇拉挥动她的魔法棒，金色的光芒在空中形成了一幅幅美丽的画面。小馋猫看到了金黄色的麦田、红彤彤的苹果、翠绿的蔬菜，还有一杯冒着热气的牛奶。
Vera waved her magic wand, and golden light formed beautiful pictures in the air. Little Foodie Cat saw golden wheat fields, bright red apples, green vegetables, and a cup of steaming hot milk.
“这些都是来自食物王国的宝藏，”薇拉说，“今天，就让我带你去看看，这个神奇的王国到底是什么样的吧！”
"These are all treasures from the Food Kingdom," Vera said. "Today, let me take you to see what this magical kingdom is really like!"

Little Foodie Cat excitedly jumped out of bed and followed Vera toward the window. They passed through the window as if going through a magical door, entering a completely different world.

The Entrance to Food Kingdom: Mouth and Teeth
小馋猫睁开眼睛，发现自己站在一条闪闪发光的道路上。这条路的两旁是各种各样的食物——有高高的大米山、圆滚滚的面包城堡、还有五颜六色的水果树。
Little Foodie Cat opened her eyes and found herself standing on a sparkling road. On both sides of this road were all kinds of food——there were tall rice mountains, round bread castles, and colorful fruit trees.
“哇！这里太漂亮了！”小馋猫惊叹道。
"Wow! This place is so beautiful!" Little Foodie Cat exclaimed.
“欢迎来到食物王国！”薇拉说，“你知道吗？你每天吃的食物，都要先通过嘴巴，才能进入这个神奇的王国。让我们先去看看嘴巴王国是什么样的吧！”
"Welcome to Food Kingdom!" Vera said. "Do you know? Every piece of food you eat has to pass through your mouth first before entering this magical kingdom. Let's go see what the Mouth Kingdom is like!"
小馋猫跟着薇拉走了几步，突然感觉周围的环境变了。她发现自己站在一个巨大的洞穴里，这个洞穴的墙壁是粉红色的，摸起来软软的、湿湿的。
Little Foodie Cat followed Vera for a few steps, and suddenly felt the surroundings change. She found herself standing inside a giant cave. The walls of this cave were pink, soft and moist when she touched them.
“这个粉红色的洞穴就是嘴巴的内部，”薇拉解释道，“你看，上面和下面有两排整整齐齐的白色士兵，它们就是你的牙齿！”
"This pink cave is the inside of your mouth," Vera explained. "Look, there are two neat rows of white soldiers on the top and bottom, and those are your teeth!"

Little Foodie Cat looked carefully and noticed that these white "soldiers" had different shapes. Some were square and blocky, like little building blocks; some were pointy, like mountain peaks; and some were flat, like tiny boats.
“为什么牙齿的形状不一样呢？”小馋猫好奇地问。
"Why do teeth have different shapes?" Little Foodie Cat asked curiously.
“好问题！”薇拉赞许地说，“这就像一个分工合作的团队，每种牙齿都有自己的重要任务。”
"Great question!" Vera praised. "It's like a team with divided responsibilities; each type of tooth has its own important task."

Three Heroes of the Tooth Team

Vera pointed to the row of teeth on the top and began her introduction:
“你看，最前面有四颗平平的牙齿，它们叫做切牙。切牙的任务就像一把把小刀，负责把食物切成小块。你吃苹果的时候，首先用切牙‘咔嚓’一声咬下一口，对不对？”
"Look, there are four flat teeth right in front, and they're called incisors. The incisors' job is like little knives, responsible for cutting food into small pieces. When you eat an apple, you first use your incisors to 'snap' off a bite, right?"
小馋猫点点头，想起自己吃苹果时的样子。
Little Foodie Cat nodded, remembering how she eats apples.
“在切牙的旁边，有两颗尖尖的牙齿，它们叫做尖牙，也叫虎牙。尖牙就像小叉子，负责撕开食物。想想看，当你吃鸡腿或者排骨的时候，是不是先用尖牙撕下一块肉？”
"Next to the incisors are two pointy teeth called canines, also known as eye teeth. Canines are like little forks, responsible for tearing food. Think about it: when you eat chicken legs or ribs, don't you first use your canines to tear off a piece of meat?"
小馋猫又点点头，期待着听下去。
Little Foodie Cat nodded again, eager to hear more.
“最后，在嘴巴最深处的牙齿叫做磨牙，它们是牙齿团队里最强壮的大力士。磨牙有好多好多的小山峰，它们的任务是把食物磨碎、磨烂，变成细细的泥状。你吃的米饭、面条，最后都要靠磨牙把它们磨成很细很细的小颗粒，这样才能让身体更好地吸收营养。”
"Finally, the teeth at the deepest part of your mouth are called molars, and they are the strongest heroes of the tooth team. Molars have lots and lots of little peaks, and their job is to grind and crush food into a smooth paste. The rice and noodles you eat all need to be ground into very fine particles by the molars, so that your body can absorb the nutrients better."
小馋猫数了数自己嘴巴里的牙齿：“我有20颗牙齿呢！它们每天都在辛苦地工作。”
Little Foodie Cat counted the teeth in her mouth: "I have 20 teeth! They're working hard every day."
“没错！”薇拉说，“所以我们要好好保护牙齿，记得每天早晚都要刷牙，少吃甜食和糖果，这样牙齿才能健健康康，一直陪伴我们。”
"That's right!" Vera said. "So we need to take good care of our teeth, remember to brush them morning and night, eat less sweets and candy, so our teeth can stay healthy and be with us forever."

Saliva——The Magical Spring in Your Mouth
小馋猫正专心听着，突然感觉嘴巴里有什么东西在流动。她用舌头碰了碰，发现是一种湿湿的、有点甜甜的液体。
While Little Foodie Cat was listening intently, she suddenly felt something flowing in her mouth. She touched it with her tongue and discovered it was a wet, slightly sweet liquid.

"This is saliva, also called spit," Vera explained. "It's the magical spring in your mouth, produced by three pairs of salivary glands."

"What's saliva for?" Little Foodie Cat asked.
