第 1 章：出发吧，小小探险家！
The Great Adventure Begins, Young Explorers!
清晨的阳光透过薄薄的窗帘，洒在小明和小花的床铺上。今天是一个特别的日子——他们的十岁生日。
Morning sunlight filtered through the thin curtains, spilling onto the beds of Xiao Ming and Xiao Hua. Today was a special day—their tenth birthday.
“小明，小花，快起床！爷爷来了！”妈妈的声音从客厅传来，带着掩饰不住的兴奋。
"Xiao Ming, Xiao Hua, wake up! Grandpa is here!" Their mother's voice echoed from the living room, carrying unmistakable excitement.
小明一下子从床上坐起来，眼睛亮得像天上的星星。他揉了揉眼睛，难以置信地问：“真的吗？爷爷从瑞士回来了？”
Xiao Ming sat up instantly, his eyes shining bright like stars in the sky. He rubbed his eyes and asked in disbelief, "Really? Did Grandpa come back from Switzerland?"
小花已经光着脚跑到门口，回头催促哥哥：“还愣着干什么？快起来啊！”她的小辫子随着动作一甩一甩的，像两条快乐的小松鼠尾巴。
Xiao Hua had already run barefoot to the door, turning back to urge her brother, "What are you waiting for? Hurry up!" Her little braids swung with her movements, like two happy little squirrel tails.
兄妹俩冲出房间，客厅里已经站着一个精神矍铄的老人。他穿着深蓝色的户外夹克，脚上是磨损但擦得锃亮的登山靴，花白的胡须里藏着慈祥的笑容。这就是他们的爷爷——一位曾经环游世界的退休探险家。
The siblings burst out of their room. In the living room stood a vigorous old man in a deep blue outdoor jacket, his worn but polished hiking boots, and a kind smile hidden within his white beard. This was their grandfather—a retired world explorer.
“爷爷！爷爷！”小明和小花像两只欢快的小鸟一样扑进爷爷的怀里。
"Grandpa! Grandpa!" Xiao Ming and Xiao Hua flew into Grandpa's arms like two cheerful little birds.
爷爷张开双臂，稳稳地接住了两个小家伙。他的怀抱温暖而有力，那是经历过无数次风雨后才能拥有的力量。
Grandpa opened his arms wide and caught the two little ones firmly. His embrace was warm and strong—the kind of strength that only comes from experiencing countless storms.
“生日快乐，我的小探险家们！”爷爷从怀里变魔术一样掏出两个精致的信封，“这是送给你们的十岁生日礼物。”
"Happy birthday, my little explorers!" Grandpa mysteriously produced two delicate envelopes from his jacket, "These are your tenth birthday presents."
小明迫不及待地撕开信封，里面是一张折叠得整整齐齐的纸。他小心翼翼地展开，眼睛瞬间瞪得溜圆。
Xiao Ming tore open his envelope impatiently, finding neatly folded paper inside. As he carefully unfolded it, his eyes went wide with astonishment.
“天哪！这是一张地图！”小明的声音都在颤抖。
"Oh my! It's a map!" Xiao Ming's voice trembled with excitement.
小花也打开了她的信封，里面是同样精美的一张地图。不过，当她仔细看时，发现了两张地图之间微妙的区别——小明的地图上七大洲用彩色标注，而她的地图上则是七大洲的轮廓剪影，空白处写着“等你填色”。
Xiao Hua opened her envelope too, finding an equally exquisite map inside. However, upon closer inspection, she noticed a subtle difference between the two maps—Xiao Ming's showed the seven continents in color, while hers displayed silhouette outlines of the continents with blank spaces that read "Color me in."
“爷爷，为什么我们的地图不一样呢？”小花歪着小脑袋问道。
"Grandpa, why are our maps different?" Xiao Hua asked, tilting her little head.
爷爷笑着摸了摸小花的头：“因为每个人的探险旅程都是独一无二的。记住，地图只是工具，真正指引你前进的是你的好奇心和勇气。”
Grandpa smiled and patted Xiao Hua's head gently. "Because everyone's adventure journey is unique. Remember, the map is just a tool. What truly guides you forward is your curiosity and courage."
爷爷在沙发上坐下，示意小明和小花也坐到他身边。他把那两张地图并排放在茶几上，指着其中一张开始讲解。
Grandpa settled onto the sofa and gestured for Xiao Ming and Xiao Hua to sit beside him. He placed the two maps side by side on the coffee table and began pointing as he explained.

“你们知道吗？爷爷年轻的时候，也像你们一样，只是一个对世界充满好奇的孩子。”爷爷的目光变得悠远，仿佛穿越了时光。
"Did you know? When Grandpa was young, he was just like you—a child full of curiosity about the world." Grandpa's gaze turned distant, as if traveling through time.
小花眨着眼睛问：“爷爷，那你小时候也有地图吗？”
Xiao Hua blinked and asked, "Grandpa, did you have maps when you were little too?"
“有一张，但远没有这张神奇。”爷爷轻轻拍了拍那张地图，“这张地图是我们家族代代相传的宝物。它能帮助每一个拿到它的人，用全新的眼光去看这个世界。”
"I had one, but nothing as magical as this," Grandpa replied, gently patting the map. "This map has been passed down through our family for generations. It helps everyone who holds it see the world with fresh eyes."
小明好奇地问：“爷爷，你去过哪些地方？七大洲你都去过吗？”
Xiao Ming asked curiously, "Grandpa, which places have you been to? Have you been to all seven continents?"
爷爷露出了骄傲的笑容：“在四十年的人生旅途中，爷爷有幸踏上了地球上的每一块大陆。”他用手指在地图上缓缓移动，“从亚洲的北京出发，我攀登过喜马拉雅山脉——那是世界屋脊，珠穆朗玛峰就在那里，那是地球上海拔最高的山，有8848米呢！”
Grandpa beamed with pride. "In forty years of traveling, Grandpa was fortunate enough to set foot on every continent on Earth." His finger moved slowly across the map. "Starting from Beijing in Asia, I climbed the Himalayas—that's the Roof of the World, where Mount Everest stands. It's the tallest mountain on Earth, reaching 8,848 meters!"
“哇——”小明和小花同时发出惊叹声。
"Wow—" Xiao Ming and Xiao Hua exclaimed in unison.
爷爷继续说道：“我还去过非洲，那里有世界上最大的沙漠——撒哈拉沙漠，一望无际的沙海会让你觉得人类是多么渺小。”他的声音低沉而富有感情，“我也曾站在非洲最高峰乞力马扎罗山的山顶，看着皑皑白雪和山下的热带草原，那景色美得让人想哭。”
Grandpa continued, "I also went to Africa, home to the world's largest desert—the Sahara. That endless sea of sand makes you realize how small humans are." His voice was deep and evocative. "I once stood atop Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa's highest peak, looking at the white snow above and tropical savannas below. The scenery was so beautiful it made me want to cry."
小花听得入迷：“爷爷，南极洲是不是也很冷？你在那里看到企鹅了吗？”
Xiao Hua was captivated. "Grandpa, is Antarctica very cold too? Did you see penguins there?"
“爷爷在南极洲住了整整三个月呢，”爷爷笑着说，“那里确实冷得要命，最冷的时候达到零下89度！不过企鹅到处都是，它们摇摇晃晃走路的样子可爱极了。还有北极——那是熊的土地，北极熊在那里自由地生活。”
"Grandpa lived in Antarctica for a full three months," Grandpa laughed. "It was indeed unbearably cold—the temperature dropped to minus 89 degrees at its coldest! But penguins were everywhere, waddling about so adorably. And then there's the Arctic—that's the land of bears, where polar bears live freely."
小明追问：“爷爷，你最喜欢哪个大洲？”
Xiao Ming pressed on, "Grandpa, which continent did you like best?"
爷爷沉默了一会儿，然后缓缓说道：“小明啊，这个问题就像问一个父亲最喜欢哪个孩子一样。”他的眼神温柔，“但爷爷可以告诉你们，每一次探险，爷爷都学到了新的东西。每一个大洲都有它独特的美丽和秘密，等待着像你们这样的孩子去发现。”
Grandpa fell silent for a moment, then slowly replied, "Xiao Ming, that's like asking a father which of his children he loves most." His gaze was tender. "But Grandpa can tell you this—every expedition taught me something new. Every continent has its unique beauty and secrets, waiting for children like you to discover."

爷爷从茶几上端起一杯茶，轻轻吹了吹，然后继续说道：“在我们开始探险之前，你们需要先了解一些基本知识。比如——你们知道什么是大洲吗？”
Grandpa lifted a cup of tea from the coffee table, blew on it gently, then continued, "Before we begin our adventure, you need to understand some basics. For example—do you know what a continent is?"
小明和小花交换了一个眼神，然后都摇了摇头。
Xiao Ming and Xiao Hua exchanged glances, then both shook their heads.
“没关系，不知道才是正常的。”爷爷笑着说，“让我们一起来认识它们。首先，想象一下你手里有一个苹果——”
"That's okay—it's normal not to know," Grandpa laughed. "Let's explore them together. First, imagine you have an apple in your hand—"
小花抢着说：“我喜欢吃苹果！是红富士吗？”
Xiao Hua jumped in, "I love eating apples! Is it a Fuji apple?"
“可以是任何苹果。”爷爷被逗笑了，“假设这个苹果就是地球。现在，我们用刀把苹果切成几块大块——注意，不是切碎，而是切成几大块。”
"It can be any apple," Grandpa chuckled. "Now suppose this apple is the Earth. We slice it into several large chunks—not mashing it, just cutting it into several big pieces."
小明眼睛亮了：“我明白了！苹果的每一块大块就是——”
Xiao Ming's eyes lit up. "I get it now! Each big piece of the apple is—"
“对了！”爷爷点点头，“每一块大块就是一块大洲。大洲就是地球上巨大的、连续的土地块，被海洋环绕或分隔。在地球这颗大苹果上，一共分成七块大洲——七大洲。”
"That's right!" Grandpa nodded. "Each big piece is a continent. A continent is a massive, continuous landmass on Earth, surrounded or separated by oceans. This apple—our Earth—is divided into seven of these pieces—the Seven Continents."
爷爷拿出一张白纸，在上面画了一个简单的地球示意图。
Grandpa took a blank piece of paper and drew a simple diagram of the Earth.
